Being a Chelsea Old Town Hall wedding photographer during the Chelsea Flower Show is enormous fun. Run annually by the RHS at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, there is such a buzz around the streets. All of the local shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants make an effort to create their own floral displays.
Claire and Randy decided to get married in Chelsea Register Office (in Chelsea Old Town Hall) with just Claire’s two children, their partners, and Claire’s sister as guests. They had come up from Brighton for their special day. The ceremony was held in the Rossetti Room (perfect for up to twelve guests) and Claire was walked into the room by her son Martyn.
They exited onto the famous Chelsea Old Town Hall steps to bright sunshine and once the confetti had been thrown we did a couple of groups shots. Next, we all walked up Sydney Street towards St Luke’s Gardens. Both Cabbages & Roses and Bumpkin kindly said ‘yes’ to a few shots of Claire and Randy outside their buildings. Cabbages & Roses had a wonderful vintage garden design based around a pretty old bicycle and Claire and Randy’s outfits suited this backdrop perfectly. Claire’s pale blue knee-length shift dress with pretty cross over back detail matched Randy’s pale blue shirt. And Claire’s wedding bouquet – soft greens, creams, pale pinks and peaches – looked great with Randy’s pale yellow tie. They were framed so beautifully by the window display.
A couple of doors down and the soft peach coloured paint on the Georgian windows of Bumpkin were ideal. We did a few shots in St Luke’s gardens before they all set off for the OXO Tower for a celebration dinner.
